Focusing On Keeping Patients Out of the Hospital.
eInfectionMD, Arizona’s fastest-growing infectious disease practice announced the opening of three new clinics located throughout the Phoenix metro area, in addition to their online treatment service. The one-year-old practice has seen tremendous growth since founding in July of 2018 by Dr. Madhu K. Murthy.
Scottsdale Airpark News recently sat down with Dr. Murthy to learn more about eInfectionMD and how we can support our community. During the call, Christina from S.A.N. pressed Dr. Murthy on how we keep patients from going to the hospital and how we help prevent antimicrobial resistance.
All clinics and online visits are staffed by board-certified infectious disease specialists with special education on treating a wide array of infections including Valley fever, Urinary Tract Infections, HIV, STDs, Meningitis, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Pneumonia, Post-operative infections, Respiratory infections, Skin and wound infections, and more.
When asked why he started the practice, Dr. Murthy remarked, “The wait times to get into an infectious disease clinic could be as high as 6 weeks. I thought there had to be a better way”. With complex infections becoming increasingly common, Dr. Murthy knew patients needed faster access to care.
